Our responsibility

We are continuously working on being a socially and environmentally responsible company. Our goal is to preserve the nature that enriches our lives. We always look for improvement that can make our company more sustainable, so that we leave the lowest impact on our environment.

Being responsible is an ongoing process, covering a product’s entire life-cycle and everyone involved in designing, producing, selling and using it.

Tonje Wahl Evensen, CEO
Quality and functionality

The highest impact on the environment happens during the production. Therefore, we believe that a long-lasting product is the most sustainable approach. When designing and developing gear for active dogs and their owners, we want it to last and endure the roughest conditions.

Our product development team always has this in mind when choosing materials. We only use fabrics that satisfy our high quality and functionality requirements. The development process is continuous with great focus on product testing and quality control. We are always searching for options and new ideas to improve our products.

Product life cycle

We focus on making long lasting products. To reach this goal, many factors play an important role in a products life cycle. We are proud to hear from some of our athletes that they have used the same harness for nearly a decade! That is possible due to our high quality and functionality standards, but also because we provide replaceable parts like side straps and clips. If you choose to upgrade to a newer version of the product, give your old harness a new life with a different owner to give it many more years of use.

We also gather up used gear and provide those in need, like dog shelters and young athletes.

Product care

One of the simplest ways to extend a product's life cycle and maintain top performance over time is proper care.

You can find information on how to take care of our products here and on each product's page.

Choice of materials

Our goal is to only source materials that do not have a negative impact on our environment and our four-legged friends, whilst still meeting our high quality and performance standards. As a bluesign® SYSTEM PARTNER we are committed to create no unnecessary harm.

bluesign® defines safer and more environmentally responsible materials standards. bluesign® help as a third-party to source safe materials.

Animal welfare

We created this company for the love of animals, so for us, animal welfare naturally has the highest priority.

Our sister-company Non-stop polar uses down and leather materials in some products for their unique function. Still, we make sure the sources are traceable and that all animals involved are treated humanely.

Non-stop is using Responsible Down Standard certified materials to safeguard the welfare of ducks and geese.

We do not use any source of fur.

Microplastics

Microplastic pollution is a growing concern for the environment. We understand the problem and are constantly seeking for better options to reduce our impact.

Packaging

In 2019 we started the process of replacing plastic packaging with recyclable materials to help reduce unnecessary waste pollution.

Our headquarters

Even though public transport is not available to our headquarters, we are proud that over 50 percent of Non-stop dogwear employees commute environmentally friendly to work. Many are walking, cycling, or even skiing when the conditions allow. Those based at our remote office in Oslo travel by train and electric car when visiting the head office in Brøttum. We also provide a free charging station for electric cars.

We support and promote an active lifestyle. For our employees and their dogs, we offer an "Orange Hour" - one hour of training during working hours. After exercising, they can shower and get changed at the office. Our employee's dogs are also welcome at the office, of course. Not only for the welfare of the dog, but because dogs help decrease stress and increase productivity.

The headquarter is located in a renovated barn. You can read more about it here. The electricity in the office comes from waterpower, and we recycle all our waste.

Corporate responsibility

Our policies on how we do business is written in our Code of conduct. This document is based on internationally recognized principles such as the United Nations human rights and the International Labour Organization's conventions. The Code of conduct describes the basic principles of our business cooperation with our suppliers, containing everything from human rights to chemical regulations.

Many of the major factories we work with are ISO 9001 certified. That means the factories comply with standards set forth by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), including factory management, environment, methods of production, and production quality.

We also follow Norwegian health, safety, and environment systems, which are known to have some of the world's highest standards.
